FANUC System Alarm Codes: PS BG SR Alarm Common Causes and Solutions

In our last article, we introduced the classification of FANUC alarm codes. In this issue, we will focus on the common causes and solutions for the PS BG SR alarm codes, and provide an alarm list. Please click here to download.

FANUC System PS BG SR Alarm Codes

During operation, the FANUC control system may trigger various alarm codes that assist technicians in diagnosing and resolving issues. System alarms (System Alarm) mainly include PS, BG, and SR types, which are typically related to system hardware, software configuration, communication, and other aspects. Understanding these alarm codes is crucial for the repair and maintenance of FANUC systems.

PS Alarm (Power Supply Alarm)

The PS alarm indicates an issue with the power supply system of the FANUC control. It typically occurs when the power voltage is not stable or there is a failure in the power supply module or related connections.

Common Causes

  • Abnormal power supply voltage.
  • Power supply module failure.
  • Loose or damaged power supply connections.

Solutions

  • Check the power supply voltage to ensure it meets the FANUC control system requirements.
  • Verify that the power supply module and power connections are secure and undamaged.
  • If the power supply module is faulty, it may need to be replaced.

BG Alarm (Background Alarm)

The BG alarm refers to a problem with the system’s background program or parameters. This alarm typically occurs during system initialization or when there is a failure in background program execution.

Common Causes

  • Incorrect system configuration or parameter settings.
  • Interrupted or abnormal program execution.
  • Background program errors during processing.

Solutions

  • Review the background parameters and configuration settings to ensure they match the system’s operational needs.
  • Ensure that no program interruptions or errors occur during system operation. Try restarting the system to see if the issue resolves.
  • If the problem persists, it may be necessary to reload the system configuration or update the software.

SR Alarm (Servo Alarm)

The SR alarm indicates an issue with the servo system, such as a problem with the servo motor, drive, or signal transmission. It typically signals that the servo motor cannot function properly or the servo feedback is lost.

Common Causes

  • Servo motor overload.
  • Servo drive failure.
  • Servo encoder malfunction.
  • Power issues affecting the servo system.

Solutions

  • Inspect the servo motor and drive for any loose connections or damage.
  • Check for any overload conditions in the servo motor.
  • Verify that the servo encoder is functioning properly.
  • If the issue cannot be resolved, the servo drive or motor may need to be replaced.

FANUC Repair Process

How we process your repair requirements

Step 1: Contact Us:

Get in touch with us and provide as much detail as possible about the issue you are experiencing.

Our professional repair team will help assess the severity of the problem and the possibility of repair.

  • If the fault is likely repairable, we will provide an initial quote and arrange for logistics to collect the item.
  • If the fault is difficult to repair, we will suggest replacing the parts and offer a special discount quote for your reference.

The customer sends or delivers the servo drive to our company. We register it in our system and prepare it for further inspection.

Our engineers diagnose the fault points of the servo drive and provide a detailed inspection report, including the final repair cost and estimated repair time.

We provide the repair quote to the customer and wait for their confirmation. If the customer agrees to the quote, we proceed with the repair.

Upon customer approval, we carry out the necessary repairs. After repairs are completed, we perform tests with the motor and conduct aging tests to ensure the servo drive operates reliably under various conditions. Once the testing is successful, we register the drive for delivery.

The customer completes the payment, and we deliver the repaired servo drive to the customer.

We provide attentive follow-up service to ensure customer satisfaction and address any further needs.
