Fanuc Spindle Alarm List – Causes and Troubleshooting Guide

Fanuc Spindle Alarm List banner

Table of Contents

FANUC spindle drive alarms serve as indicators of potential issues within CNC machines. They help identify issues related to spindle motor, drive unit or communication errors – understanding these FANUC Spindle Alarm List entries can help significantly decrease downtime while increasing machine efficiency.

In this guide, we will detail how FANUC spindle alarms are displayed and provide a complete FANUC Spindle Alarm List as well as troubleshooting solutions. At the end of this article, a PDF with this list can also be downloaded for future reference.

How FANUC Spindle Alarms Are Displayed

FANUC spindle drive alarms appear in a specific manner that operators need to observe carefully.

LED Indicator and Digital Display on the Spindle Drive

FANUC spindle drives feature a numeric display panel alongside three LED indicators. The combination of the LED indicators and the numbers on the display helps identify alarm and fault conditions.

  • Red LED + Numeric Display: Indicates a spindle alarm. This requires troubleshooting to identify the root cause.
  • Yellow LED + Numeric Display: Indicates a spindle fault. Unlike spindle alarms, faults do not appear in the CNC system. Spindle faults are not hardware failures but are related to PMC signal logic, parameter settings, or function settings.

Since spindle faults do not trigger messages in the system, operators must always check the numeric display on the spindle drive and the LED indicator status when the spindle is not functioning correctly.

The customer sends or delivers the servo drive to our company. We register it in our system and prepare it for further inspection.

Our engineers diagnose the fault points of the servo drive and provide a detailed inspection report, including the final repair cost and estimated repair time.

We provide the repair quote to the customer and wait for their confirmation. If the customer agrees to the quote, we proceed with the repair.

Upon customer approval, we carry out the necessary repairs. After repairs are completed, we perform tests with the motor and conduct aging tests to ensure the servo drive operates reliably under various conditions. Once the testing is successful, we register the drive for delivery.

The customer completes the payment, and we deliver the repaired servo drive to the customer.

We provide attentive follow-up service to ensure customer satisfaction and address any further needs.
